Pink Panther Strikes Again

When it comes to being a fumbling idiot, Inspector Clouseau can only come in a distant second to our very own FL. I don't know how many times I have said this, but with every new bold step taken by FL, I assume that he cannot and will not be able to rise much higher in his esteemed position of being the biggest idiot around.

As you might infer, I am referring to the sacking of the Chief Justice. The judgement of the SJC is a foregone conclusion, the (non-functional) CJ will be sent packing, and we will have a new non-descript person in his place, who will not dare to question the holy writ of FL and his government.

I think people have already commented on the obvious things here, I am not arguing about whether the NFCJ is guilty of the allegations (as eloquently worded by Mr. Naeem Bokhari (the less said about him, the better)) (dang it, too many parenthesis there), I just wonder if people can be so bereft of basic common sense. Let me explain

One of the allegations against the NFCJ is that although his son scored 16/100 on the English exam, he was able to join the Police force, because of his father's position. Now if I were to use my influence to do something like that, I would need to change those numbers, since if I have failed an exam, I wouldn't be able to meet the requirements for getting in. So I first change that to 92/100 and then proceed. This reminds me of the guy who was NABbed and as evidence a bribe "cheque" was found in his desk.

The funny thing is that nobody is alleging that NFCJ was not delivering as the CJ, nobody is questioning his verdicts or actions from his office. So I must assume that he was doing something right. While not condoning his using government aircraft, I wonder that in itself could potentially leave our government without a single senior officer, starting from the very top.

It is funny, but when I look at my ramblings, I find that a lot of it comes from the decisions or matters in front of the Supreme Court, starting from MM and the whole kite-flying drama. As far as I know, this man had the gall to defy the government, and just because of that, I feel that he can't have been that bad.

I try and fool the gods and tell myself that this too shall pass without making any difference to the powers that be. It will be business as usual, FL will either hold the elections or he will not, he will get elected by the present assemblies or he will not, Shortcut will be the new PM or he will not, these things are irrelevant. People like the Information Minister will tell lies on public television, the English language challenged law minister and his family will either beat up or threaten people and get away with it and so on and so forth. I just feel sorry for the disappeared people, whose families had a glimmer of hope when the SC ordered the "agencies" to find out where they were, and the 4000 or so trees of Murree who won't have a friend anymore.
